  1. I thought u just got the 2.2 update??

  2. Yup!! 2.2 is the official update for SGS in India. Samsung is very fast with updates. Still some countries are receiving 2.2.1 Froyo update. This 2.3.3 Gingerbread update will come on Kies soon, first in Europe and then other countries.

  3. hi gautam.

i just updated using your XWJS8 firmware, and i'm getting brilliant performance. how is this upgrade as compared to the XWJS8? are there any issues?
plus, as i mentioned on your other post, i can't seem to use 3G as the phone detects locale as England(UK) with no option to change to India. help?

  4. @Ritwik XWJS8 is the best 2.2.1 froyo firmware. XXJVK is 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware. I'll test this firmware for a couple of days and let you know the performance and battery backup on this firmware. The available user ram has reduced by 10MB against XWJS8 its now 329MB instead of 339MB.
Performance is at par with XWJS8.
Locale has nothing to do with 3G even I have set the locale to England(UK). Still able to use 3G without any problem.

  5. @gautam

    thanks a lot.
    keep posting about the performance.

  6. @Ritwik you can check the review / comparison between XXJVK(2.3.3) and XWJS8(2.2.1) here

  7. @Ritwik you can check the review / comparison between XXJVK(2.3.3) and XWJS8(2.2.1) here.

  8. Updated from Froyo using links/info above. Works fine on UK Vodafone I9000 and everything seems to be MUCH faster.
