Mercury Launches mTab In India For ₹ 9499

Mercury has today announced its Android tablet - the mTab – in India. After Reliance Communications, launched their budget Android tablet - Reliance 3G Tab and Bharti Airtel, launched their Android tablet - Beetel Magiq earlier this month.

Here are the specifications of the mTab,

Screen: Mercury's mTab has a 7-inch WVGA(800x480) TFT LCD touch display, measuring 19.3 X 11.7 X 1.4 cm, similar to Android tablets launched earlier this month. We are not sure if it has a Capacitive or a Resistive touchscreen. It comes with a G sensor screen rotation for 3D G-games.
Processor: It features a significantly powerful 1.2GHz triple core processor and is a lot faster than its competition. Reliance 3G Tab and Beetel Magic have 1GHz and 800MHz processors respectively.
Operating System: The mTab like the Reliance 3G Tab runs on Android 2.3(Gingerbread).
Memory: It comes loaded with 512MB RAM, which is used for running various applications/games on the tab. It has 4GB internal storage along with microSD card slot, which is expandable up to 32GB.
Connectivity Options: In connectivity options, it has Wi-Fi with IEEE 802.11b/g and an optional 3G connectivity option.
Camera: It has a 1.3 megapixel front camera, for making video calls and video recording. Unfortunately it doesn't come equipped with a rear camera, like we saw on Reliance 3G Tab or the Beetel Magiq.
Weight: The mTab weighs 400gms which is similar to the tablets launched earlier this month.
The mTab supports 4 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge.
Other Options: The mTab is capable of a variety of infotainment services from web access, email, videos, music, to games and e-books.
Price: The mTab is priced very competitively at just ₹ 9,499.

  1. Yes! Mercury tab has better specs, the most imp thing being the 1.2GHz triple core processor. It will definitely have better 2D & 3D graphics than Reliance 3G Tab.
