HTC Launches HTC Titan - Windows Phone

HTC launched launched a new smartphone on September 01, 2011, called the HTC Titan. Titan runs on the latest Windows Phone OS 7.5 a.k.a "Mango". This means you will get to use all of the 500 new features that Mango brings along with it. Multitasking, gaming, a bunch of productivity tools and various entertainment options; thus making it a very powerful device in a small package.

According to Greek mythology, Titan is the one with great strength and size. HTC Titan is definitely worthy of the name. It displays strength from its uni-bodied contoured design, and size from its massive 4.7-inch capacitive touch screen with 480 x 800 resolution, making it the largest Windows Phone in the market.

Titan is just 9.9mm in thickness, which will make it easier to be held in your hand. It weighs 160 grams and its dimensions are 131.5mm x 70.7mm x 9.9mm.

The larger screen enables you to enjoy your favorite blockbuster movies on the go. The movies come to life due to the larger screen estate. Titan comes with Zune and XBOX Live, thus giving you access to entertainment with no bounds! With Zune you can download your favorite music, videos and podcast. XBOX Live will raise your gaming experience to a new level.

HTC Titan also comes with a 8MP camera with F2.2 aperture and a BSI sensor, which enables you to take photos under any condition. F2.2 ensures that more light reaches the sensor, the result is a perfectly exposed picture. With the HTC Titan in your pocket, you will not need to carry a point and shoot with you everywhere you go. The camera captures video at 720p. It also sports a 1.3MP front facing camera.

HTC Titan has a 1.5GHz processor under the hood, which is used to perform all the tasks on the device. It has 512MB RAM, and an internal storage of 16GB, although the usable memory is around 12GB. The device comes loaded with 5 types of senors they are Gyro Sensor, G-Sensor, Digital compass, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor. The Titan uses a 1600mAh battery which keeps the device powered up.

In terms of connectivity options, HTC Titan has 3G - Download up to 14.4 Mbps and Upload up to 5.76 Mbps, EDGE - up to 236.8 kbps, GPRS - up to 80 kbps, Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP support, GPS with HTC locations and Bing Maps, 3.5mm stereo audio jack and micro-USB 2.0.

Titan also has Internet Sharing to share your 3G / EDGE connection with your computer. It also provides SRS enhancement for audio and 5.1 surround sound for video.

Overall, the HTC Titan is a very good device for anyone who is looking for a new smartphone. Only time will tell, how well it will fare against its competition!
